John Hilbard was born on May 14, 1923 in Køge, Denmark as John Hilbert Larsen. He was a writer and director, known for Walter og Carlo - yes, det er far (1986), The Factory Outing (1978) and Hopla på sengekanten (1976). He died on March 10, 2001 in Denmark. Hilbard was a Danish film director and screenwriter, renowned for his contributions to Danish cinema, particularly in the comedy and erotic genres. He began his career in the film industry in the 1950s and gained prominence in the 1970s. Hilbard is best known for directing the "Bedside" series (Sengekanten), a collection of eight films produced between 1970 and 1976. These films, including Bedroom Mazurka (1970) and Bedside Highway (1972), were part of a wave of erotic comedies that became popular in Denmark during that era. His work is characterized by its humor and lighthearted approach to adult themes, contributing significantly to the Danish film industry's evolution during the 20th century.
