Kaustubh Govind Chavan is an Indian filmmaker, artist, content creator, and psychology graduate whose work exists at the intersection of storytelling, satire, pop culture, and human behaviour. Known online through his creative identity “Chaostubh,” Kaustubh has built a distinctive presence through filmmaking, cosplay, skits, and experimental digital content. As a director and independent artist, he is particularly drawn to unconventional stories, often combining dark humour, political and social satire, crime, absurdity, and pop-culture influences. As a filmmaker, Kaustubh is known for developing ambitious projects outside traditional production systems. His neo-noir short film DIABLO, set in a stylised version of 1978 Bombay, was created with a small crew, a zero-budget approach, and a strong reliance on practical creativity, VFX, and experimentation. His work frequently explores censorship, morality, power, hypocrisy, and the uncomfortable contradictions within society. His later creative work, including THE CRITIQUE, continues this interest in satire: using filmmaking itself as a subject through stories about censorship, artistic freedom, and the conflict between creators and institutions. Kaustubh has also been associated with Supriya Production and cultural initiatives such as the Bolibhasha Ekankika Spardha, contributing to the organisation and promotion of creative and cultural events.
