Gabriela Paciel is a Cuban writer and director, born and raised in Havana. She began her career writing for Mexican TV shows El Rival Más Débil and Doble Cara. She has written and directed the short films El Viejo, which was selected for more than twenty festivals around the world, including the Havana Film Festival, LALIFF, and FICCI; To Play with Fire, which screened on DishLatino and Vix+; and more recently The Cookbook, which premiered at Cinequest. She participated in the Torino Film Lab, Cine Qua Non Lab, Tomorrow’s Filmmakers Today, Warner Media's Initiative Access to Festivals: Sundance, and the Reykjavik IFF Talent Lab.
