John Brown is best known for his scene-stealing appearance in Buster Keaton’s The Balloonatic (1923). Despite his limited time in front of the camera, he is often hailed as one of the all-time great bear performers of the silent film era. He also went on to work with Charlie Chaplin in The Gold Rush (1925) before taking early retirement from the silver screen.
