Yasser graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts in 2006 and began his career as a jewelry designer. He later shifted his focus to cinema, studying at the Academy of Arts in Cairo and then at the Jesuit Cinema School. He has written and directed three short fiction films, which have participated in numerous international film festivals. Yasser has also worked as a film producer on several projects. His short film The Dream of a Scene won a special prize for its script at the "Festival del Cinema Africano, d'Asia e America Latina" in 2015. His film Intense Practice to Improve Performance participated in the Cairo International Film Festival in 2018 and won multiple awards at festivals around the world, including: * Cervantes Award (Best Creative Short) – MedFilm Festival, 25th Edition, Rome * Best Comedy Film – Rome Independent Cinema Festival, 2020 His latest short film, The Man Who Swallowed the Radio (2020), was selected for several international festivals and received multiple awards, including a screening at the Cairo International Film Festival in 2020. Yasser’s first feature film is titled Complaint No. 713317, won the Best Script Award in the Horizons of Arab Cinema competition of 46th of Cairo international film Festival - 2025 and official selection at -55th Rotterdam International film Festival "IFFR" - Bright Future Program.
