Amalia Alish kizi Panahova is a Soviet and Azerbaijani theater and film actress, teacher. Doctor of Art History, professor. People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR and the Armenian SSR (1985). She was born in Kirovabad, Azerbaijan SSR, USSR. In 1966, she graduated from the Baku Theater Institute. She was an actress at the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theater, and from 1992 until her death, she was the director of the Baku Municipal Theater. She played more than 300 roles in theater and cinema and staged about twenty performances as a director. She was a member of the Milli Majlis of the second convocation. She died in Baku. She was buried at the Gurd Gapysy cemetery in Baku.
