Alexis was born in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. She started acting at a young age in community theatre and went on to receive a BFA - Specialization in Theatre Performance from Concordia University in Montreal. Alexis has been working professionally since her graduation in 1995. Alexis is also the author of the Bella James mystery series. Her first novel, 'Encore' was published in 2015 and was shortlisted for both the 2016 Arthur Ellis and Bony Blithe awards. The sequel, 'Triple Threat' was published in February 2018 followed by 'Revival' in 2020. An avid dog lover, Alexis also loves to travel and often chooses her country of exploration based on what she wants to eat.
