Vladimir Georgievich Yakovlev was a Soviet makeup artist. He was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR (1967) and the first-degree Stalin Prize laureate (1950). He graduated from the Moscow Imperial Academy of Commercial Sciences. From 1927 to 1977, he worked as a makeup artist at various film studios. He was a master of portrait makeup. He was the first to develop and apply plastic makeup, which made it possible to accurately characterize characters. From 1947 to 1949, he taught at VGIK. He also acted in films.
