Pooya Mohseni is an Iranian American actress, writer, filmmaker and Trans activist, born and raised in Tehran, Iran. She moved to New York in her teens, where she discovered her love of acting and story telling. She has guest starred on Primetime shows, like Law and Order : SVU , Falling Water and Madam Secretary and Big Dogs on Amazon Prime. She is the first middle eastern trans actor to play the role of judge on a prime time procedural. Her latest starring role in a feature is the lead role of Mari Walker's "See You Then", coming out in 2021. She is a graduate from the esteemed Maggie Flanigan Studio, and continues to build her resume of a wide range of characters, while exploring their humanity and fragility. She is fluent in Persian/Farsi and a transgender advocate, as well as a voice for immigrant and women's issues. She is also involved in writing and consulting on original LGBT stories to shed light on an otherwise under represented community.
