American actor John La Briola studied theater at the University of Colorado where he majored in Creative Writing. For seven years he worked as a freelance journalist and regular contributor to Village Voice Media's national chain of alt-weeklies, most notably Denver-based Westword. After uprooting himself midlife to settle in Stockholm, Sweden, La Briola worked as an extra and voice artist, then broke into professional acting at age 51, playing Italian conceptual artist Mr. Alanzo in pseudo-documentary "The Human Love Volcano". His credits include delusional organist John Doe in the multiple prize-garnering "Pipe Dream" which secured the NatGeo Genius Award (through a Grand Jury headed by Hollywood composers Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe.) La Briola's broad range of theater, film, TV and voice-acting roles includes devils and angels, assorted misfits and a meek retiree with dementia in the award-winning, independent road trip feature "Finding Alice".
