Erik Mariñelarena Herrera (born January 10, 1977 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican director, screenwriter, editor, and producer. In a career spanning two decades, Mariñelarena has made twelve feature films. including Beyond the Summit: Learning to Fly (2011) - First Mexican IMAX production, Hotel Chelsea (2009), The Cosmonaut (2013) and NASA: AzTechSat-1 (2023); as well as several series for television and streaming. His work has been praised by audiences and critics alike, which earned him multiple accolades, including Emmy Award, Sundance and Cannes. He is also the founder of the Mexican production company E Corp Studio.
