Monalisa Basarab is a Romanian film and stage actress. She was born in Tulcea, on 23 April 1972. Since 2002 and up to now she is actress at the 'Constantin Tanase' Variety Theatre, the most representative genre theatre in Romania. She started her film career in 1999 with the German movie 'Nostradamus - Prophet of Doom' in series 'Sphinx - Secrets of the History' ('Nostradamus - Prophet des Untergangs' aus der serie 'Sphinx - Geheimnisse der Geschichte' in German), directed by Klein Günther, where she plays the role of Nostradamus’ wife. Along the years she also appeared international productions, especially in French movies but also in Romanian ones.
