Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku (August 24, 1890 – January 22, 1968) was a Hawaiian competition swimmer, lifeguard and actor, winning five Olympic medals during his athletic career and helping to popularize the sport of surfing in the early 20th century.
