Alexandre Promio was a pioneering French cinematographer and director who played a crucial role in the early development of motion pictures. As a key figure in the Lumière Brothers' company, he helped introduce and spread cinema across Europe and beyond, capturing some of the earliest moving images of major events and everyday life.
