He was born on May 20, 1968, in Moscow. He studied directing at VGIK under Viktor Man. In 1999, he graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors (workshop of Alexander Mitta). Prior to his own directorial debut, he worked as a first assistant director on films by Mikhail Kozakov, Leonid Maryagin, and Vladimir Grammatikov. He made his film debut in 2006 with *Listening to the Silence* (*Slushaya tishinu*), based on a screenplay by Natalia Nazarova. In 2008, he participated in the anthology film *Moscow, I Love You!* (*Moskva, ya lyublyu tebya!*), directing and writing the segment "Mosca ti amo." In 2012, he co-directed the film *The Daughter* (*Doch*) with Natalia Nazarova. Between 2007 and 2014, he directed several television series, most of which were developed in collaboration with Natalia Nazarova.
