Ferdi, a dedicated sailor, and Seher, a shop assistant, are preparing for marriage. Hoping to leave the sea behind so he can stay close to Seher, Ferdi looks for stable work ashore. However, feeling the crushing weight of financial hardship, Seher becomes tempted by an affluent marriage proposal from Ekrem (Nuri Alço), her employer's wealthy son. When Ekrem is suddenly murdered, a loyal friend whisks Ferdi away to protect him from being falsely accused, leaving Ferdi stranded far from home. Years later, having survived years of exile and relentless longing, Ferdi finally returns to Istanbul, where his path crosses once again with Seher.
