The central theme of the film is complicated relationships between people, selfishness, and obsession. The main character is a successful psychologist in the midst of a midlife crisis. His story is an ironic and bizarre example of how a secret lover of his best friend can complicate a person's life. In an effort to help his friend with his relationship problems, the main character unleashes such a torrent of events that nothing in his life remains the same.
