Vulkanologie der Emotionen 1972
Directed by Peter Weibel
In the project Lage vor Ort (1970) the audience enters the gallery and sees on the monitor the image of a man lying on the street in the gutter. Fitted and adapted into the corner, in the joint between the street and the sidewalk, i.e. to the urban architecture, the body of man is a volume. Its physical expressiveness is apparently set to zero, but through the context and configuration (in the gutter) the body position acquires an enormously social expression. I treated the body as an abstract, geometric body, as a volume that can occupy different positions in the surrounding space. I transferred the triangle of the surrounding space (x, y, z coordinates) to the body itself.
