Teatr mój widzę ogromny 1946
Directed by Jerzy Zarzycki
A documentary tracing the revival of Polish theatre during the Second World War, from clandestine performances in occupied Warsaw to the front-line stages of the Polish Army formed in the Soviet Union. Featuring excerpts from productions of Aleksander Fredro's *Maiden Vows* and *The Life Annuity*, Stanisław Wyspiański's *The Wedding*, and Juliusz Osterwa's *Fantazy*, the film documents the rebirth of Polish theatrical life and the establishment of the Polish Army Theatre in Łódź in January 1945. Produced by the Polish Army Film Studio, the documentary combines the work of filmmaker Jerzy Zarzycki and graphic artist Jan Marcin Szancer to create a distinctive poetic portrait of theatre emerging from the ruins of war.
