Remember, Girl

Their fight made your choice possible

Directed by Claudia Gerini

Eighteen-year-old Matilde is about to vote for the first time, but she would rather spend the day at the beach with her friends. Her mother and grandmother take her on a journey through family memories and Italian history, from women’s first vote in 1946 to the rights achieved today. Their story intertwines with that of Vittoria and four other women who lived through more than a century of female emancipation, from the suffragettes to the 21 women of the Italian Constituent Assembly. Archival footage, photographs, documents, and historical testimonies bring their journey to life.
