A group of friends plans to stage a traditional Christmas nativity play, but first they must find the money to build it. Fortunately, two of them have savings in a PKO account, allowing the project to go ahead. Drawing on the tradition of satirical nativity plays, the performance turns its attention to the economic crisis and unemployment that plagued Poland in the early 1930s. Through figures including a peasant, intellectual, worker, landlord, policeman, scout, the Devil, and the personification of the Crisis, the play blends social commentary with a promotion of saving money through PKO.
