Life on the Line is a documentary about the fishing industry in Alaska: the journey of a sablefish, from being caught to being eaten, told through its own perspective. The film starts in the vast and alien world of the North Pacific Ocean. The sablefish is suddenly pulled out of its environment through commercial capture and passes through a cannery to end up in a kitchen, where it is prepared for consumption.
