Tatsunobu Sagara (Kazuyoshi Ozawa), a wakagashira (underboss) of the Natsume-gumi, was expanding his influence by leveraging the reputation of Mitsuru Gono (Shiro), wakagashira of the Tanba-gumi. Meanwhile, Daisuke Kanamori (Hideyuki Kawahara), also of the Tanba-gumi, was aggressively encroaching upon business territories monopolized by the Natsume-gumi. Although Gono and Kanamori were both formidable figures renowned in the yakuza underworld, their mutual animosity had brought the organization to the brink of an internal feud.
