Fra Diavolo 1910

Directed by Albert Capellani

The notorious bandit Fra Diavolo disguises himself to track an English couple staying at an inn. Although his gang robs them, their stolen wallet is empty, prompting Fra Diavolo to plot another heist. At the inn, the couple recounts the attack to a guardsman captain, who is also trying to win the innkeeper’s permission to marry his daughter. Suspecting the brigand, the captain challenges Fra Diavolo to a duel. Fra Diavolo accepts, using the opportunity to leave a hidden note ordering his men to rob the couple during the fight. However, the captain’s fiancée secretly follows them, intercepts the message, and alerts the guards, leading to the swift capture of the entire bandit gang.
