The Woman Hater 1910

Directed by Joseph A. Golden

Wealthy socialite Hal Merritt retreats to a ranch after his sweetheart leaves him, declaring his hatred for women. He is displeased to find the rancher’s young niece staying there. To avoid her, Hal rides into the woods, where he defends his horse from a Native American and accidentally stabs him. Tribesmen abduct Hal, tying him to a tree to be burned. The girl escapes, alerts a posse, and returns just in time to rescue him. Back at the ranch, as she nurses him, Hal reconsiders his vow, and the two share a romantic embrace.
