In Time, But Stolen 2009
Directed by Giuseppe Baresi
A portrait of cellist Mario Brunello, told, over almost two years of filming, through his music and his landscapes: from the Tunisian Sahara desert to the mountain of Arte Sella and the Sounds of the Dolomites, from the prestigious stage of the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome to his warehouse “Antirustine”, a place of creation and encounter in Castelfranco Veneto. Images of his most important concerts under the direction of Claudio Abbado, Gustavo Dudamel, Gidon Kremer and alongside musicians such as Vinicio Capossela and Danilo Rossi, alternate with passionate lessons with his students, rehearsals and walks in the woods. The story unfolds punctuated by the conversation with Marco Paolini to whom Brunello tells a singular vision of music, retracing some important moments of his artistic career.
